As part of the “Drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces” project, which we are implementing in collaboration with our partners – the company city24 and the McGregorJewelry brand of men’s accessories, as of August 24, 2023, we have handed over 26 quadcopters of various modifications and types totaling around 2 500 000 UAH!
For the needs of the military units of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, and the National Police, the following were provided:
• DJI Mavic 3 – 22 units.
• AUTEL EVO II Dual Enterprise Rugged Bundle 640T – 1 unit.
• Mavic Mini 2 Fly More Combo – 1 unit.
For the needs of the State Emergency Service units in dealing with the consequences of the Kakhovka Dam disaster:
• DJI Mavic 3 Pro – 2 units.
We remind you that you can support the project through any terminal in the city24 network by clicking the “Drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces” button, as well as on the city24.ua website or on the centersocial.org website.
Drones are the eyes of our defenders. Their usage helps reduce risks for both military personnel and civilians. Unfortunately, the lifespan of a drone on the front line is very short, as confirmed by the commander of the UAV crew of the 1st Presidential Brigade of Operational Assignment of the National Guard of Ukraine, with the call sign “Advocate”.
“The Mavic can serve for one to two weeks, and sometimes we lose two to three Mavics in a day. It depends on conditions, electronic warfare activities, and the intensity of combat actions. At present, on the front line where our unit is located, several drones are constantly in the sky 24/7, monitoring approaches to our positions, enemy movement of equipment and personnel, and conducting reconnaissance of enemy positions to detect firing points. Additionally, drones assist in adjusting the fire of our artillery, suppressing and repelling enemy assaults, so their benefit is immense.”
In the context of modern warfare, drones fulfill a wide range of tasks: reconnaissance and monitoring, communication support, detection of traps and threats, data collection for analysis, minimizing risk to military personnel, and many more.
As shared by the commander of the instructors of the 4th Battalion of VCH3017 of the National Guard of Ukraine, with the call sign “Bars”: “We use drones for reconnaissance, searching for wounded and assisting with evacuation. On average, a drone doesn’t live long, sometimes less than a day. But no group goes anywhere without eyes in the sky, it’s too dangerous. If there aren’t any available, we look for them, exchange them, buy them at our own expense.”
However, it’s not only the military that feel a pressing need for drones. Their usage is also of enormous importance for emergency and rescue services. Drones assist in coordinating rescue operations and teams, accessing inaccessible or hazardous areas, surveying buildings, roads, bridges, and infrastructure objects. They allow for rapid detection and localization of missing or injured individuals in situations where it might be very difficult for humans due to difficult access or danger at the scene.
Therefore, we handed over drones to rescue workers in the Kherson region, who were involved in dealing with the consequences of the Kakhovka Dam disaster.
“These drones helped our service document damage and were used in the flood aftermath. We are immensely grateful to you for the provided assistance!” – Deputy Chief of the Kherson Regional Communal Emergency Rescue Service, Viktor Tsyktor.
The “Drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces” project has been ongoing since November 2022 and remains relevant, assisting our military daily in effectively operating on the battlefield and avoiding danger.
Dmytro Hrysha, city24:
“We have been cooperating with the Social Projects Center of Future Foundation for more than 10 years on various assistance and fundraising projects through our terminal network and website. Over these years of trust and collaboration, we are confident that every donated hryvnia and every purchased drone will be directed to those servicemen and services that need them most. Therefore, from the very beginning of the war, together with the foundation, we initiated fundraising to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In November, we launched the joint project ‘Drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces,’ as drones are vital for our soldiers and the approach to victory. I am deeply grateful to all concerned citizens who make charitable contributions through our terminals and website. Together, we are strong!”
Vadym Khadzhioglov, Chairman of the Board of the Social Projects Center of Future Foundation:
“We are immensely grateful to our friends and partners, the company city24, and all compassionate people who have joined this project. The ‘Drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ project is extremely important. Throughout its implementation, we’ve gone from targeted fundraising to purchase 10 drones to systematic work involving almost weekly procurement and delivery of drones.”
We thank everyone who has participated in the “Drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces” project and all those who support us!
