NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR RECOVERY: MODERN REHABILITATION EQUIPMENT DELIVERED TO A HOSPITAL IN UZHHOROD
At the end of January, we delivered rehabilitation equipment for restoring upper and lower limb functions to the Uzhhorod City Multidisciplinary Clinical Hospital, with a total value of UAH 1.2 million.
The hospital regularly treats patients with mine-blast injuries, fractures, contractures, and amputations. Thanks to the new equipment, their path to recovery is becoming faster and more comfortable.
Among the equipment provided is the Fisiotek LT/P-5R device, used for controlled passive mobilization of upper limb joints when a person is not yet able to actively move their arm. This type of therapy helps maintain joint mobility, reduce pain, and prevent complications at the early stages of rehabilitation.
The hospital also received the Kinetec Kinevia DUO, which allows a combination of passive and active training, gradually restoring strength, endurance, and coordination. This is especially important for patients who need to safely return to daily activities after complex injuries or prolonged movement restrictions.
The equipment has already been installed in the department, and the team of specialists is using it in their daily work with patients.
“This equipment truly helps patients in their recovery. When people see modern devices, they feel calmer — the fear that therapy will be painful disappears. Patients are more willing to participate and see results faster. For us, as specialists, this is also a great support: the equipment simplifies our work and allows us to devote more attention to each patient.” – Kateryna Zinovieva, Head of the Rehabilitation Department
Before putting the equipment into operation, a series of physical therapy trainings was also held for the hospital’s multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. You can read more about these trainings here.
The equipment was delivered within the project “Improving Rehabilitation Services for Patients with Musculoskeletal Disorders in Zakarpattia Region,” implemented by the CO “ICF ‘Social Projects Center of Future’” with the support of UNDP in Ukraine under the project “Support to Inclusive Recovery for Human Security and Resilience in Ukraine,” funded by the Government of Japan.
