NEW PHYSIOTHERAPY EQUIPMENT FOR THE REHABILITATION CENTER IN UZHHOROD
On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, as part of the implementation of our Foundation’s grant project with the support of UNDP, two physiotherapy devices were delivered to the Uzhhorod Neurosurgery and Neurology Center. This center provides rehabilitation services to people who have suffered the consequences of the war in Ukraine.

Specifically, the following items were delivered:
● Physioled Therma – diathermy therapy machine, which stimulates the body’s natural physiological response to pathology and accelerates the recovery processes.
● Physioled Onda – shock wave therapy machine, used to treat musculoskeletal disorders and promote tissue biostimulation.
The total value of these devices is approximately 1 000 000 UAH (27 000$).
Approximately half of all patients at the center require rehabilitation services using the provided devices. This includes those who have suffered musculoskeletal injuries, bone and joint pathologies, muscle tears, fractures, contusions, contractures, and more.
It’s important to note that the provided physiotherapy equipment has no adverse side effects and does not cause any discomfort to the patients. The effects of their use are immediately noticeable, including a significant reduction in pain, improved blood circulation, initiation of a tissue biostimulation response, and noticeable anti-inflammatory effects.
Comprehensive rehabilitation using physiotherapy equipment allows for a 30-50% increase in its effectiveness and can practically halve the duration of rehabilitation.
This allows for an increased level of recovery, work capacity, and physical performance for patients, improving their overall health and quality of life. It also contributes to their social adaptation by restoring mobility and independence.
We strive for as many people in need of rehabilitation as possible to return to a full life!
In addition, 15 representatives of the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team at the Uzhhorod Neurosurgery and Neurology Center underwent training on how to operate the provided equipment. They learned its basic characteristics, and capabilities as well as practiced using it. Certified engineer Illya Shcherbenko from LED company conducted the training.
During the use of the equipment, there are plans to monitor the effectiveness of procedures, observe the reactions and well-being of patients, and gather their feedback. Additionally, there are plans to adjust individual rehabilitation programs for patients who are already undergoing rehabilitation, taking into account the new possibilities offered by the physiotherapy equipment.
We will continue to inform you about the project’s progress and the achieved results!
THE PROJECT IS IMPLEMENTED WITH THE SUPPORT OF UNDP AS PART OF THE PROJECT “SUPPORTING REHABILITATION OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES CAUSED BY THE WAR” FINANCIALLY SUPPORTED BY THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA AND GERMANY.
