HEARING AIDS FOR SAVETYUK NELIA (115,000 UAH)

05.04.2024

On April 3, 2024, we purchased and provided hearing aids for Nelia Savetyuk, with a total cost of 115,000 UAH.

Diagnosis: left-sided neurosensory deafness, right-sided neurosensory hearing loss grade 4.

Date of birth: October 3, 2007.

Nelia was born into a family of deaf parents. When she was 1 year and 3 months old, an examination revealed that she had a hearing impairment. This was not surprising to her parents, as hearing impairments are usually hereditary. However, Nelia’s mother had hoped and dreamed that her daughter would be able to hear…

Nelia is a girl with reduced hearing. Her diagnosis is described as “left-sided neurosensory deafness and right-sided neurosensory hearing loss grade 4,” meaning she can hear sounds no lower than 71dB, which is considered a severe form of impairment.

At the age of 16, Nelia is currently in the 10th grade. After school, she dreams of enrolling in the architecture design faculty. To achieve her educational and professional goals, Nelia needed to have a hearing aid so she could hear her teachers and others. This is crucial for her education and development. Her previous hearing aid was no longer suitable, and there were no funds available to purchase a new, powerful device.

Nelia enjoys reading books, drawing, and listening to music with headphones. Yes, she has special, very loud headphones that allow her to hear music. Her parents searched for a long time to find these headphones for their daughter, but Nelia loves music so much that they decided to fulfill her dream.

Despite her diagnosis, Nelia continues to learn, develop, make friends, and dream. Although the absence of hearing greatly affects her life in a world full of sounds, Nelia overcomes these difficulties, and we are helping her along the way!

We want to thank every donor who supported the fundraising campaign, which took place on the dobro.ua platform!
