COMPREHENSIVE PROJECT COMPLETED WITH SUPPORT FROM VODAFONE UKRAINE
In June 2024, together with Vodafone Ukraine, we launched a comprehensive project under the Emergency Response Program during the war.
Vodafone Ukraine funded two key areas of the program: support for family-type children’s homes affected by the hostilities and assistance to medical institutions specializing in the rehabilitation of individuals injured as a result of shelling.
The total project budget was 1,142,740 UAH.
What we achieved together:
– We provided six family-type children’s homes with essential goods, educational equipment, mobile generators, and household appliances. The families of Nataliia Korabelnikova, Olena Batskova, Svitlana Kurbatova, Ruslan Voloshchuk, Dmytro Shkuropat, and Anzhela Kimlyk, who care for 48 children affected by the war, received this aid. We help create comfortable living and learning conditions for the children, which supports their full development and growth as individuals, in line with the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
– We delivered a stationary electric lift, the POOL E-185, to the “Halychyna” Rehabilitation Center in Lviv. This equipment is crucial for the recovery of patients with severe injuries, amputations, and contractures. The center currently provides care to 300 patients, and the lift will enable water therapy exercises for 25 patients daily. Learn more about the importance of this equipment and patient rehabilitation here.
– We organized comprehensive electromyography (EMG) training for 10 doctors working with injured patients in hospitals across Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Dnipro, Lviv, and Rakhiv. This training significantly improved the doctors’ professional skills—none of whom previously had EMG experience—and will help them provide qualified care to individuals with nerve and muscle tissue injuries. EMG is a critical tool in rehabilitating people with limb amputations, allowing for accurate assessment of muscle and nerve conditions, which is particularly vital in the rehabilitation of military personnel with various injuries, including wounds and concussions. Doctors report that 25-80% of patients in medical institutions require EMG, with approximately 25% being war-affected. Read more here.
