REHABILITATION COURSE FOR YEVA NEKRASOVA

15.11.2024

In April this year, we covered the cost of a rehabilitation course worth 25,000UAH at the Kozijavkin Clinic for Yeva Nekrasova. However, due to a waiting list at the clinic, the rehabilitation took place only last week.

Date of Birth: November 11, 2019
Diagnosis: Cerebral Palsy

Yeva recently turned five, but her life has already been marked by a significant challenge—battling cerebral palsy. She was born a healthy baby, but as Yeva grew, her parents began noticing delays in her physical development, leading to the diagnosis. From that moment, a tough journey began: continuous rehabilitation sessions and work with various specialists. Yet, these efforts have not been in vain!

Yeva has already achieved a lot—she can sit, roll over, and crawl a little. However, there is still much work ahead. She cannot walk independently yet and can only manage short distances with support or a walker. Her left hand also remains underdeveloped.

In 2022, Yeva underwent critical surgery on her legs: an open selective adductor myotomy of both thighs and a Strayer procedure on both calves. Before the surgery, she could neither sit nor stand. The operation was a turning point, enabling Yeva to sit, stand, and even take steps independently!

To ensure these hard-won gains are not lost, Yeva needs regular rehabilitation sessions—at least four times a year. These expenses are a significant burden for any family, which is why Yeva deeply needs the support of kindhearted people.

“Yeva has turned out to be an extraordinarily bright and cheerful little girl. Her curiosity and enthusiasm always amaze us. She is our little ray of sunshine, happy despite all the difficulties,” her parents share. “Ongoing rehabilitation is our reality, and every helping hand is a tremendous gift to us. Thanks to your support and compassion, we’ve been able to provide the necessary treatments, which have already resulted in noticeable progress in her recovery,” says her mother, Daria.

This assistance was made possible thanks to funds raised on the dobro.ua platform.
