HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES WORTH 19,000 UAH FOR THE BANNYKOV FAMILY
Last week, we purchased and delivered a Beko combination stove worth 19,000 UAH to the Bannykov family, who live in the village of Sakhnovshchyna, Kharkiv region, and are raising eight foster children.
In 2007, the Bannykov couple began their journey as foster parents by welcoming 15-year-old Tetiana into their home. In 2015, they officially established a family-type children’s home, which has since become a safe and loving place for 17 children over the years.
Currently, the family is raising eight minors, seven of whom have experienced orphanhood, and three of whom hold internally displaced person status due to the war.
These are children with complex pasts — many have difficult medical diagnoses and special educational needs. But what truly matters is that today they are in a family where they feel love, care, and a true sense of home.
“Our children have fragile health, complex conditions, and special learning needs,” says foster mother Nataliia Banykova. “The war took a heavy toll on their physical and psychological well-being. In early 2022, we were forced to evacuate to Poland. We stayed there for a year, and once the situation in our town improved, we returned home.”
Due to the children’s health needs, they all take part in therapeutic physical activities. Their dream is to have their own outdoor sports area with basic exercise equipment. The girls enjoy embroidery, a craft that helps develop fine motor skills and supports emotional recovery. Together, they all dream of peace, travel, and the simple joy of feeling like a “normal, happy family.”
This support was provided as part of our family-type children’s home assistance program.
