MODERN EQUIPMENT AND TRAINING FOR THE REHABILITATION CENTER IN IVANO-FRANKIVSK

08.10.2025

As part of the “Rehabilitation: New Life” project, we have provided modern rehabilitation equipment to the Center for Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine at the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Clinical Hospital and organized training for specialists on how to use it effectively.

The total value of the support amounts to 864,832 UAH.

The Center has been equipped with two new devices — the Levitas PRO 1 sling therapy system and the Neofect Smart Pegboard. Both are now used daily by specialists, helping patients restore motor skills, coordination, and cognitive abilities after injuries.

Levitas PRO allows performing rehabilitation exercises in a suspended position. Patients can move safely with support, without overloading their bodies, while specialists can precisely control the level of load and work effectively even with complex cases. This method helps to rebuild strength, balance, and control over body movements.

To help specialists fully use the equipment, we also organized training — “Basic training on using the Levitas PRO 1 sling therapy system in physical therapy and rehabilitation.”
The training took place on October 3–4 at the hospital, with 12 specialists — physical and occupational therapists — participating.

“It was extremely valuable to try the Levitas system ourselves and experience what our patients will feel. It builds confidence because we can see how well it works. The training was very informative — we explored the structure, functions, and techniques, and reviewed real clinical cases. All specialists are satisfied and already receiving great feedback from patients, who say it’s something new, engaging, and motivating,” said Khrystyna Kuzmyk, occupational therapist at the Center.

Another important addition to the Center is the Neofect Smart Pegboard — an interactive rehabilitation board that combines physical exercises with cognitive tasks. Patients perform activities in a game-like format while the system records progress, displays results on the screen, and motivates them to keep going.

“This equipment is extremely valuable in our work, as many of our patients have neurocognitive disorders. The smart board helps improve memory, attention, and thinking while also developing fine motor skills. Patients feel more motivated when they can see their progress displayed on the screen,” added Khrystyna.

Because of the war in Ukraine, the need for professional rehabilitation has grown dramatically. Every day, thousands of Ukrainians begin their recovery journey, supported by dedicated teams of medical professionals who help them regain independence and confidence.
We support these teams by providing them with modern equipment and training so that rehabilitation can be effective and safe.

The “Rehabilitation: New Life” project is implemented with the support of GlobalGiving.
We sincerely thank our partners for making it possible to carry out such important initiatives in Ukraine.
