NEW PASSIVE REHABILITATION EQUIPMENT FOR THE VINNYTSIA PSYCHONEUROLOGICAL HOSPITAL
As part of our “Rehabilitation: New Life” project, implemented with the support of GlobalGiving, we delivered a Fisiotek LT-G passive elbow rehabilitation device to the Vinnytsia Regional Clinical Psychoneurological Hospital named after Acad. O.I. Yushchenko.
The value of the equipment is 724,185 UAH.
This is not the first time we have supported this medical facility: last year, the hospital received three more passive rehabilitation devices from us — one for the shoulder joint and two for lower-limb rehabilitation.
Together, these systems provide a more comprehensive approach to passive joint mobilization in the early stages of rehabilitation.
How the equipment works
Passive rehabilitation is an important part of recovery after injuries, neurological conditions, and surgical interventions. Such devices help safely and gradually restore joint mobility, reduce pain, prevent contractures, and prepare patients for more active therapy.
Olena Dolynna, Head of the Rehabilitation Center, shares: “With the new device, we see increased joint mobility, reduced pain, and improved upper limb function. Patients engage with interest, their motivation grows. For specialists, this is also important — the device helps track progress and reduces physical strain during procedures.”
About the hospital
The hospital’s multidisciplinary teams include physiatrists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, speech and language therapists, prosthetist-orthotists, and rehabilitation nurses. The team follows evidence-based methods, a patient-centered approach, and international protocols, adapting rehabilitation goals to each person’s needs.
The hospital also participates in neurorehabilitation research and introduces technologies that help patients regain movement, function, and quality of life even after severe injuries.
Why it matters
Because of the war, the number of people who need long-term and high-quality rehabilitation continues to grow. Passive joint mobilization is one of the first and most important steps in this process. Devices like these help patients safely regain movement, reduce pain, and gradually restore independence.
We sincerely thank our partners at GlobalGiving for enabling such important initiatives in Ukraine.
