SUPPORT FOR RIVNE REGIONAL CLINICAL HOSPITAL: A TILT TABLE DELIVERED
As part of the “Rehabilitation: New Life” project, implemented with the support of GlobalGiving, a modern SP-I/E electric tilt table worth UAH 208,215 has been installed at Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital.
This equipment helps patients safely and gradually transition from a lying to an upright position after prolonged periods of immobility. It is particularly important for patients with severe mobility impairments, consequences of brain and spinal cord injuries, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions, as well as those recovering from complex surgeries.
Thanks to its electric drive, rehabilitation specialists can smoothly adjust the angle of the table and stop it at the position required for each patient. This allows the verticalization process to be adapted to each person’s condition and abilities, with the level of physical load gradually increased throughout rehabilitation.

Verticalization is an important part of rehabilitation for people who are unable to stand or move independently for extended periods. It helps the body gradually adapt to an upright position, supports respiratory and cardiovascular function, improves blood circulation, and helps prevent complications associated with prolonged bed rest.
ABOUT THE HOSPITAL
Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital is a supra-cluster healthcare facility and one of the region’s important rehabilitation centers. More than 7,000 people receive care here every year.
One of the hospital’s key areas of work is comprehensive physical and psychological rehabilitation for patients with the consequences of traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, blast injuries, strokes, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions, as well as orthopedic and neurological disorders.
Importantly, rehabilitation at the hospital can begin during the acute stage following an injury or illness, alongside the necessary medical treatment. A multidisciplinary team works together to support each patient’s recovery, combining different treatment and rehabilitation approaches according to their individual condition and needs.
The hospital also develops its neurorehabilitation services, cooperates with research institutions, and introduces modern approaches and technologies — from electrical stimulation and robotic equipment to virtual reality-based rehabilitation methods.
The newly delivered tilt table will complement the hospital’s rehabilitation equipment and help specialists work with patients at different stages of recovery, including when returning to an upright position becomes one of the first important steps in the rehabilitation process.
The “Rehabilitation: New Life” project is made possible with the support of GlobalGiving. We sincerely thank our partners for helping us advance modern rehabilitation in Ukraine and provide medical teams with the resources they need in their daily work.
