1 000 000 UAH FOR BALAKLIA HOSPITAL

30.12.2022

The fund purchased and delivered medical equipment and medicines worth 1 000 000 UAH to the Balakliya multidisciplinary hospital – two coagulators, an anesthesia breathing system, two electrocardiographs, and medicines.

Balaklia is a city in Kharkiv region, Izyum district, which was occupied from the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. On September 8, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated it. The videos of our military from Balaklia, where they hang Ukrainian flags and met locals – spread all over the world.

But russian federation left behind only devastation and human deaths.

The Balakliya hospital was badly damaged, and its premises were destroyed. During the occupation, the russian military set up barracks here so the hospital is currently undergoing major repairs. Now only the infectious department is open, but the hospital will gradually come back to usual work. Also, the hospital was left without important medical equipment, not only due to shelling but also due to looting by the russian army.

The hospital currently needs everything from syringes and insulin to modern high-quality medical equipment.

In total, about 4,000 people live in Balaklia, at the moment. These are people who did not leave their homes because they did not want to or could not, those who had nowhere to go and were waiting for liberation throughout the occupation.

The delivered medical equipment will help people in the de-occupied Kharkiv region to return to normal life and provide them with one of the most important needs – access to medicine.

We are sincerely grateful to dobro.ua for cooperation and assistance in the implementation of this project!
