4 MORE REHABILITATION DEVICES DELIVERED WITHIN THE “RESILIENCE: REGAINED STRENGTH” PROJECT

27.06.2024

In June, we delivered 4 joint rehabilitation devices for the upper and lower limbs, with a total value of 43,130 $ (1,763,950 UAH), as part of the “Resilience: Regained Strength” project, which aims to enhance the level of medical rehabilitation in Ukraine.

Specifically:
• Fisiotek 3000 TS passive rehabilitation device – 2 units
• Fisiotek LT shoulder passive rehabilitation device – 2 units

These sets were received by the Uzhhorod Regional Clinical Center of Neurosurgery and Neurology and the Vinnytsia Regional Psychoneurological Hospital named after Yushchenko.

Passive joint rehabilitation following injuries and traumas is one of the most crucial tasks during the early rehabilitation phase. These procedures help restore joint mobility and functionality, prevent contractures, and promote faster healing. Regular use of passive rehabilitation devices reduces pain, improves blood circulation, and prepares the patient for more active rehabilitation methods.

Currently, medical institutions are treating and rehabilitating many patients who have sustained complex and combined injuries due to shelling and missile attacks. In many cases, the injured lose partially or completely their mobility and require prolonged rehabilitation to regain lost skills and for further social reintegration.

The devices we have delivered are extremely necessary today as they significantly improve the overall recovery rate, work capacity, and physical performance of patients, and ensure a higher quality and less painful rehabilitation process.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

This project aims to provide essential support to 7 medical institutions in Ukraine across Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, and Vinnytsia oblasts. These facilities cure various individuals who have suffered injuries, including loss of mobility due to shelling and combat hostilities.

The project plans to purchase and deliver 19 units of modern and high-quality medical and rehabilitation equipment and organize training in electromyography, ultrasound diagnostics, and other advanced treatment methods for about 40 physicians specializing in physical and rehabilitation medicine, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, neurologists, and related fields.

This project aims to help as many affected Ukrainians as possible return to autonomous lives and minimize the social problems caused by the large number of injured individuals.

The project is being implemented with the support of our partner, GlobalGiving.
