ASSISTANCE FOR THE KHERSON REGION (161.027 UAH)
Yesterday, on June 21, we purchased essential goods and equipment worth a total of 161,027 UAH to support the victims of the explosion at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant in the Kherson region.
The following items were provided:
Two refrigerators, three microwave ovens, and hygiene products were delivered to the Karabelysh Hospital in Kherson, where 73 people are currently being accommodated.
Two refrigerators and two stoves were delivered to the Kherson College of Service and Design, which currently houses 135 people.
Additionally, four boilers, a refrigerator, a freezer, and cleaning supplies were provided to the Tropin Hospital in Kherson, where 138 people are currently staying.
Families who are temporarily staying in shelters have lost their homes due to the flooding. Many people from nearby communities were evacuated to Kherson, and in the best-case scenario, they were only able to bring the most essential items with them. It is of utmost importance to provide them with everything they need for daily life, as some may never be able to return to their homes. Unfortunately, the hospitals and dormitories of educational institutions are not suitable for fulfilling living. Therefore, we are making every effort to improve these conditions and bring them as close as possible to residential standards.
The explosion at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant resulted in the flooding of 32 industrial facilities containing chemicals, oil, and gasoline, including oil refineries, gas stations, thermal power plants, and various warehouses, as reported by Greenpeace. In the first days of the disaster, at least 150 tons of engine oil leaked into the water, exacerbating the environmental impact.
