COMPREHENSIVE TRAINING IN ELECTROMYOGRAPHY FOR THE TEAM OF DOCTORS FROM THE UZHHOROD CENTER OF NEUROSURGERY AND NEUROLOGY
Within the framework of the grant project “Physiotherapeutic Equipment for the Rehabilitation of Military Personnel and War Victims,” we organized training for six physicians from the multidisciplinary team at the Uzhhorod Center for Neurosurgery and Neurology. The training was conducted at the Electromyography School under the guidance of Dr. Yuri Ponomarenko, a candidate of medical sciences and a senior neurologist.
The training consisted of video lessons, access to proprietary materials developed by Yuri Ponomarenko, who has been practicing electromyography for over 14 years, as well as practical seminars.
Electromyography is a modern diagnostic method used in neurosurgery, neurology, and rehabilitation for assessing the condition of the nervous and muscular systems.
The advantages of electromyography include its high precision and sensitivity in determining muscle activity, the ability to diagnose muscle disorders early, and its potential for monitoring and controlling the rehabilitation of patients. It also assists doctors in establishing an individualized approach to treatment and rehabilitation, making it an essential tool in medical and rehabilitation practice.
Approximately 30-40% of the center’s patients require electromyographic studies.
“THANK YOU FROM OUR ENTIRE TEAM FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN FROM THE BEST AND GROW PROFESSIONALLY. THESE COURSES ARE A TRUE FIND THAT WE DESPERATELY NEED FOR PROVIDING BETTER CARE, TREATMENT AND REHABILITATION FOR THOSE WHO HAVE SUFFERED FROM THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE WAR IN UKRAINE,” SHARED DMYTRO HRYHORENKO, A PHYSICAL AND REHABILITATION MEDICINE DOCTOR.
THIS PROJECT IS BEING IMPLEMENTED WITH THE SUPPORT OF UNDP AS PART OF THE “SUPPORT FOR THE REHABILITATION OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES CAUSED BY WAR” PROJECT WITH FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA AND GERMANY.
