FURNITURE FOR THE FOSTER FAMILY OF OLEKSII VASYLYCHENKO

Oleksii and his wife decided to care for children and create a family-type children’s home in 2021. However, it became official only in March 2022. At that time, the family joined the “Childhood Without War” project and evacuated to Turkey. On September 2, 2024, they returned to Ukraine and are now living in their hometown in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Oleksii shared: “My biological mother has run a family-type children’s home since 2006, where I grew up with foster children. When I grew up and got married, my wife and I decided to continue this noble cause—giving children the chance to grow up in a family.”

Currently, the family is raising six children, one of whom is biological. “Our oldest son cares for the dog. The two younger sons are very physically active and enjoy playing on tablets. Our older daughter has health issues and developmental delays, so it’s hard to engage her in activities, but we find ways, such as helping with light household tasks,” Oleksii says.

The family lacked the necessary furniture to provide the children with comfortable conditions for studying. They also face problems with electricity and a lack of water.

This assistance was provided as part of the program to support family-type children’s homes.
