HEARING AIDS FOR ANGELINA TOLMACHOVA (115,000 UAH)

13.09.2024

This week, hearing aids Enzo 3D (2 units) were purchased for Angelina Tolmachova for 115,000 UAH.

Diagnosis: Bilateral sensorineural hearing loss, stages 1-3.
Date of Birth: August 5, 2011.

Angelina was born a healthy baby girl but developed right-sided pneumonia with complications at 6 months old, leading to a lengthy hospital stay. Once she recovered, she seemed lively and cheerful, but her parents later noticed she did not respond to the sounds of falling objects. At 2.5 years old, specialists in Kyiv diagnosed her with “bilateral sensorineural hearing loss.”

She was enrolled in a kindergarten for children with hearing impairments. Angelina had to mature quickly, learning sign language and reading, which was challenging as she could not hear and had difficulty understanding the world and what caregivers provided.

Now 12 years old, Angelina excels in school, actively participates in competitions and festivals, performs in sign language, and enjoys dancing. She is passionate about volleyball and was a winner in national competitions with her team.

Her previous hearing aids lacked the necessary power, frequently squeaking and causing discomfort, leading her to remove them often, complicating her life further.

Angelina’s large family could not afford the expensive modern hearing aids that would allow her to communicate freely, hear correctly, and better experience the world around her.

We sincerely thank everyone who supported Angelina and helped ensure she could hear. The fundraising took place on the dobro.ua platform.
