HEARING AIDS FOR DMYTRO KHODAKIVSKYI (115,000 UAH)

21.10.2024

Last week, we purchased and delivered Enzo3D hearing aids worth 115,000 UAH for Dmytro Khodakivskyi.

Diagnosis: Profound hearing loss, grade 4
Date of birth: 07.08.2011

Dmytro was born at 7 months of pregnancy, and doctors fought for his life during the first weeks as he was connected to a ventilator. Once his condition stabilized, it became apparent that Dmytro could not hear. Since the hearing impairment was detected at an early stage, there were chances to restore his hearing, and intensive treatment began. However, after a year, it unfortunately did not give any results…

When Dmytro turned 4, his parents were forced to send him to a special kindergarten for children with hearing impairments. This was a painful decision as the child had to stay there full-time, away from his parents. After kindergarten, Dmytro also attended a specialized school located 100 km from home.

Now Dmytro is 13 years old, and his diagnosis is “profound hearing loss (grade 4).” At school, he is learning sign language. Dmytro is very active, smart, and talented. He loves volleyball, competes in tournaments, and helps his team secure first-place victories. His parents have already bought him hearing aids twice, but the last set became too weak for him, and the family cannot afford high-quality, expensive devices.

The hearing aids we provided will significantly aid Dmytro in his development and education, in communicating with his parents and peers, and help him achieve his dreams of becoming a professional athlete!

We sincerely thank each donor for their support! The fundraising took place on the dobro.ua platform.
