HELP FOR FAMILY-TYPE CHILDREN’S HOME IN CHERNIHIV REGION (10 341 UAH)

23.08.2023

Last week, the family-type children’s home of Olha Kurnytska received valuable assistance in the form of school supplies for the children, totaling 10,341 UAH.

Located in Mena, Chernihiv region, this family-type children’s home has become a haven for children left without parents. It offers more than just shelter and sustenance; it provides a sanctuary of unlimited warmth and love. Behind its doors is a small yet incredibly cozy family, hosting 11 children over the years — three biological and eight adopted. The nurturing force behind this home is a resilient and profoundly devoted woman who, having experienced the loss of parental love herself as a child, made it her mission to provide a loving home for others.

“I knew that when I grow up, I will definitely take the children into my home, into my family,” shares the head of the house. Her mother, also an orphan from childhood, instilled in her a deep empathy for the pain every child without parental love endures. The children in this home grow into intelligent, creative, and energetic individuals. They engage in sports and art, contribute to household chores, and care for one another.

Expressing gratitude for the assistance received, Mother Olga highlighted the importance of conveying feelings of love and mutual understanding to the children. She also shared stories about her three sons, currently serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, expressing her hope for a peaceful future.

Stories like this underscore how genuine kindness and unwavering dedication can profoundly change lives. Even small steps, such as providing school supplies, help children navigate the world and experience the warmth of family despite the challenges they face.
