MEDICAL EQUIPMENT FOR THE KHERSON INFECTIOUS HOSPITAL (38,640 UAH)

21.03.2024

On March 15, 2024, we purchased and delivered a LabAnalyt DM 0412 clinical centrifuge worth 38,640 UAH to the Kherson Infectious Disease Hospital.

A clinical centrifuge is a medical equipment used to separate the components of a liquid or tissue sample by spinning it at high speed.

In infectious disease hospitals, clinical centrifuges are used for several purposes: diagnosing infectious diseases, conducting blood analysis, processing clinical samples, and studying other biological materials. This allows doctors and lab technicians to diagnose and monitor infectious diseases effectively.

The Kherson Infectious Disease Hospital named after H.I. Horbachevsky specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases. The facility provides a wide range of services, including the treatment of acute and chronic infectious diseases, laboratory testing, vaccination, and consultations on infection prevention.

The hospital has a capacity of 205 beds and can expand by an additional 100 beds during crisis periods (as was the case during the Kakhovka HPP disaster).

The war has significantly impacted the operation of medical facilities, including infectious disease hospitals. Military conflicts lead to an increase in the number of wounded, the spread of infectious diseases, disruptions in the supply of medical supplies and equipment, evacuation of medical personnel, and other challenges.

In wartime conditions, infectious disease hospitals play a crucial role in providing medical care to the wounded, controlling infections, and maintaining public health amid danger.

The funds for this project were partially raised through the dobro.ua platform.

This assistance was provided under the “Ukraine War Help Center” program.
