MEDICAL EQUIPMENT WORTH 5 MILLION UAH DELIVERED TO “OHMATDYT” CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
On July 8, 2024, due to a russian missile strike, “Ohmatdyt” suffered significant damage. 24 departments were affected, including the toxicology and hematology buildings, two power substations were destroyed, and about 300 people were injured, including 8 children. Tragically, two adults and one child lost their lives. Through the emergency response project and fundraising campaign on the Fishka platform, we purchased and donated medical equipment worth 5 million UAH to the ultrasound diagnostics and otolaryngology departments at “Ohmatdyt,” including:
– A DC-80 ultrasound diagnostic system worth 3,845,003 UAH, equipped with five types of ultrasound probes and a hybrid graphic printer model UP-X898MD.
– A NET-1100 treatment and diagnostic ENT unit worth 1,158,500 UAH, which includes: a mobile NET-1100 unit, an endoscopic system NET-260SLCB, an otoscope, a sinuscope, a rhinoscope, a 24-inch IPS monitor, a sinus irrigator SI-1000, and consumables.
“Ohmatdyt” is the largest children’s hospital in Ukraine. Every year, around 20,000 children receive professional medical care here, including those fighting cancer, HIV, and other serious illnesses, as well as young patients requiring the most complex surgical interventions.
The treatment of thousands of Ukrainian children was put at risk, and the hospital’s recovery became a critical necessity. That is why we launched the emergency response project to restore its operations. Thanks to the generosity of Ukrainians, 5 million UAH was raised in just one week through the Fishka platform. These funds were used to purchase the essential, high-cost equipment for the hospital.
The DC-80 ultrasound diagnostic system is used for examining children with various diseases. It provides detailed images of internal organs and tissues, which is vital for early detection of pathologies. Specifically, the DC-80 is used for cardiological examinations, assessing the condition of the heart and blood vessels, and detecting congenital defects. It is also used for examining infants to detect brain development disorders, such as hydrocephalus. This equipment is crucial for timely diagnosis and monitoring of treatment for children with a range of conditions, including critical ones.
The NET-1100 ENT treatment and diagnostic unit is used for comprehensive examinations and treatment of ear, throat, and nose diseases in children. This equipment allows a wide range of procedures to be performed with maximum accuracy and comfort for patients, especially young children. In addition to diagnostics, the unit enables therapeutic procedures as well.
We are sincerely grateful to everyone who supported this fundraising campaign, as well as our partners—the Fishka platform—for the implementation of this important project.
