MODERN EQUIPMENT FOR THE REHABILITATION DEPARTMENT OF UZHHOROD CITY HOSPITAL
As part of the “Rehabilitation: New Life” project, we have delivered modern rehabilitation equipment to the rehabilitation department of Uzhhorod City Multidisciplinary Clinical Hospital. The total value of the assistance is ₴828,135.
From now on, the department is equipped with:
– Dyaco 7.0T rehabilitation treadmill
– CAPRI forearm and wrist rehabilitation device (PHU Technomex)
HOW THE EQUIPMENT WORKS
The CAPRI device helps patients restore wrist and forearm movements. Doctors set an individual program based on what needs to be developed, and patients complete interactive tasks — such as flying a plane into a target or “running” through a virtual course. This approach is not only effective but also engaging: thanks to the game format, patients are motivated, look forward to each session, and actively participate in their recovery.
The Dyaco treadmill is installed under a ceiling lift system, which allows even those unable to walk independently to exercise safely. Patients with amputations or partial weight-bearing restrictions can be securely supported and trained in the correct mode. According to doctors, the treadmill fully meets all professional requirements.
TEAM IMPRESSIONS
“Both devices are actively used every day. Patients love the process: they enjoy the exercises, don’t complain about pain, and come to training with enthusiasm. This motivation makes a big difference — it helps speed up recovery,” says Kateryna Zinovieva, physician in physical and rehabilitation medicine at Uzhhorod City Hospital.
WHY IT MATTERS
Because of the war, thousands of Ukrainians have sustained serious injuries that require long-term treatment and rehabilitation. This is a major challenge not only for patients but also for the medical teams working alongside them. That’s why we support doctors by providing them with modern tools for their daily work — and patients by allowing them to gradually restore not only their physical functions but also their confidence.
We strive to ensure that everyone who needs it can access quality rehabilitation and return to life, family, and their dreams.
This is not the first time we have supported the Uzhhorod City Hospital. Last year, we provided them with a multifunctional arm rehabilitation table, a parapodium, a bedside active-passive training system for the lower limbs, and a passive rehabilitation device — all of which are currently in use in the department.
The “Rehabilitation: New Life” project is made possible thanks to the support of GlobalGiving.
