MODERN REHABILITATION EQUIPMENT FOR TERNOPIL PSYCHONEUROLOGICAL HOSPITAL
The “Rehabilitation: New Life” project, supported by GlobalGiving, continues to expand its reach and help more people across Ukraine. This year, we began cooperation with the Ternopil Regional Clinical Psychoneurological Hospital — and already have the first results to share.
To support the hospital’s neurorehabilitation department, we delivered modern rehabilitation equipment worth a total of ₴1,085,122, including:
• Parallel Bars TNCH-2 – used to help patients relearn how to walk after strokes and injuries;
• KINETEC KINEVIA DUO – a device for active and passive therapy of both upper and lower limbs;
• CAPRI – a trainer designed for wrist and forearm rehabilitation;
• Smart Power Machine – a multifunctional strength trainer with a traction system for building muscle strength and improving coordination.
A hospital that brings people back to life
The Ternopil Regional Clinical Psychoneurological Hospital is a leading medical institution in the region that provides specialized neurological, neurosurgical, rehabilitation, and psychiatric care. It operates the only stroke center in the region and has developed a well-coordinated step-by-step care system, where rehabilitation begins as early as the acute stage of illness.
The hospital’s neurorehabilitation department is supported by six multidisciplinary teams who help patients with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, and peripheral nervous system disorders. Their main goal is to restore patients’ functional independence and help them return to an active life.
The hospital also actively develops the use of assistive technologies. Since 2023, it has operated a dedicated assistive devices unit that helps select and provide personalized tools for patients. In addition, the “First Contact” program supports people with spinal cord injuries who use wheelchairs, helping them adapt to new living conditions.
Meeting the team
Last week, Valeriia Granovska, our project manager, visited the hospital. During her visit, she met with the team of specialists, observed how the equipment we provided is being used in daily practice, and spoke with patients who are undergoing rehabilitation.

“The Ternopil team made a very strong impression — professional, open, and truly dedicated to their work. You can feel the energy and the pulse of life here. Every specialist works with at least six patients a day, helping them rebuild their strength and independence, while also sharing experience with colleagues from other facilities. The equipment we provided is already being used actively in the mental and physical rehabilitation departments, and both doctors and patients note its effectiveness,” shared Valeriia.
This visit became an important step in our cooperation. It showed the real results of our shared efforts and confirmed that support truly reaches where it is most needed.
Together toward a shared goal
Almost every day of the war brings new stories of people who are learning to live again. Thanks to the new equipment, the hospital’s teams will now be able to work even more effectively to help patients recover.
“Thanks to the ‘Rehabilitation: New Life’ project, we have improved the quality of our rehabilitation work, gained new knowledge, and — most importantly — felt that our efforts truly matter. What makes this project especially valuable is the humanity present in every stage of the support process.”- Petro Skobliak, Deputy General Director for Rehabilitation
We are proud to bring new teams into the project and continue working together toward our shared goal — to restore movement, strength, and life to those who are fighting for their healthy future.
