MODERN REHABILITATION EQUIPMENT PROVIDED TO THE “HALYCHYNA” CENTER

17.12.2024

In December, as part of the Resilience: Regained Strength project aimed at improving the quality of medical rehabilitation in Ukraine, the Halychyna Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center received modern equipment worth a total of 612,150 UAH.

The following equipment was delivered:
• Kinetec Kinevia Duo rehabilitation device
• Two units of Mini Tensor active rehabilitation trainers

The Kinetec Kinevia Duo is an innovative device offering passive and active limb rehabilitation. Its use enhances coordination, mobility, and strength, tailoring the rehabilitation process to each patient’s needs.

The Mini Tensor is an effective active rehabilitation trainer that helps restore movement control, strengthen muscles, and accelerate the recovery process, facilitating a return to full life.

The Halychyna Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center has over 20 years of experience in integrated rehabilitation. Approximately 80% of its patients are individuals who lost limbs due to injuries sustained during the war. Currently, the center provides treatment and rehabilitation for around 300 patients.

The delivered equipment will significantly enhance the rehabilitation process’s effectiveness. It minimizes pain and discomfort during therapy, aids in restoring motor functions, and helps patients adapt more quickly to new physical capabilities. These technologies empower individuals to return to active life and feel confident in everyday situations.

Project Overview

The Resilience: Regained Strength project supports seven medical facilities across the Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, and Vinnytsia regions, where patients receive medical care and rehabilitation services.

As part of the project, 22 pieces of modern medical and rehabilitation equipment were procured and delivered in 2024. This equipment has already been commissioned and is actively in use. Additionally, training was organized for 38 professionals, including doctors, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. The training covers ultrasound diagnostics, electromyography, and modern treatment and rehabilitation methods.

The project’s mission is to help as many injured Ukrainians as possible regain independent living, reduce the social impacts of their injuries, and facilitate their reintegration into society.

The project is implemented with the support of our partner, GlobalGiving.
