NEXT STEP IN THE “REHABILITATION: NEW LIFE” PROJECT. HELPING RIVNE REGIONAL CLINICAL HOSPITAL

21.11.2025

This year, another important medical institution joined our “Rehabilitation: New Life” project, implemented with the support of GlobalGiving — the Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital. Expanding the geography of our work allows us to help even more people who need timely and high-quality rehabilitation.

The total value of the support provided to the hospital is 598,323 UAH, including equipment and training.

What We Delivered

The hospital received four pieces of modern equipment, all of which are already actively used in patient care:
Endomed 482 electrotherapy device (Enraf-Nonius) — used for pain relief, reducing inflammation, muscle stimulation, and speeding up recovery.
Helios/150 mobile patient lift (Winncare Nordic) — for safe movement of patients with limited mobility.
MIRR-1 exercise mirror (Technomex) — to help patients maintain proper posture and perform movements correctly.
OPAL treatment table (Technomex) — for comfortable therapeutic procedures and manipulations.

This equipment helps specialists deliver more effective rehabilitation and supports patients in restoring mobility, strength, and better control of their bodies.

Training for Hospital Specialists

To ensure the team can fully use the capabilities of the Endomed 482 electrotherapy device, we helped four specialists take part in a two-day training course, “The Role of Hardware Physiotherapy in Treating the Musculoskeletal System.” The training was led by Illia Bunechko, an orthopedic trauma surgeon and leading trainer at the Institute of Vertebrology and Rehabilitation.

During the course, the specialists learned about: the principles of hardware physiotherapy; indications and contraindications for various methods; how to combine techniques for better results; practical skills for performing procedures; approaches to safe and comfortable therapy for patients.

Feedback From the Hospital’s Leadership

The hospital’s head, Andrii Burachyk, told us that the new equipment is already showing significant impact:

“All the equipment is used daily, and specialists rate it as very effective. It simplifies our work, shortens rehabilitation times, and allows us to track patients’ progress. We are already seeing improvements in motor skills, mood, social activity, motivation, and emotional engagement. This is extremely important for successful recovery.”

About the Hospital

The Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital is one of the key medical institutions in the region, providing highly specialized care and rehabilitation for patients with traumatic brain and spinal injuries; blast wounds; musculoskeletal disorders; the consequences of strokes and traumatic brain injuries; PTSD; and various orthopedic and neurological conditions.

The hospital actively participates in clinical research aimed at improving neurorehabilitation methods. Its specialists collaborate with leading research institutions, implement modern technologies — robotic equipment, electrical stimulation, virtual reality — and apply international treatment protocols. This makes the hospital one of the important rehabilitation centers in Ukraine.

Support That Gives People a Chance to Recover

Because of the war, the number of patients who require long-term recovery after injuries is rapidly increasing. The Rivne hospital is a place where they receive professional support and a real chance to regain movement, strength, and independence.

We are grateful to the hospital’s team for their work and proud to support them with modern equipment and training. Together, we are making quality rehabilitation more accessible for everyone who needs it.
