PH METER FOR KHERSON INFECTIOUS HOSPITAL

06.09.2023

Last week we provided the Kherson Infectious Hospital with a stationary pH meter worth 58 300 UAH (approx.1575$).

A pH meter is an ideal device for systematic monitoring of the pH of nutrient media, which is a very important step in diagnosing gastrointestinal diseases.

Due to the disaster at the Kakhovka Dam in June, there is currently a risk of acute gastrointestinal and infectious disease outbreaks in the Kherson region. High air temperatures, lack of water in many settlements in the region, and the death of animals due to flooding create conditions for the development of many serious infectious diseases such as hepatitis, leptospirosis, and others. Therefore, there is an additional need for equipment and consumables in the microbiological department of the clinical diagnostic laboratory at the Kherson Regional Infectious Hospital named after G.I. Gorbachevsky. This will increase the volume of research for the prevention and early detection of pathogens, allowing for timely and appropriate treatment.

Due to the disaster, the hospital has deployed additional 100 beds. The institution is preparing to receive people in the event of such a situation. The existing equipment in the hospital is simply insufficient, and it is also outdated, with a risk that it will not cope with the load.

We believe that prevention of undesirable situations is the best approach, rather than dealing with their consequences. Therefore, our project is currently very important and will help prevent a crisis and save lives.

Also, the hospital will be provided with the necessary laboratory hood, and its delivery is planned in about 2 weeks. Follow our reports.

We sincerely thank dobro.ua for supporting this project.
