SPECIALISTS FROM LVIV MEDICAL INSTITUTIONS TOOK PART IN THE 5TH NATIONAL CONGRESS OF PHYSICAL AND REHABILITATION MEDICINE
As part of our project “Rehabilitation: New Life”, supported by GlobalGiving, we helped seven specialists from two of our partner medical institutions in Lviv — three representatives of the Lviv Regional Hospital and four specialists from the “Halychyna Rehabilitation Center” — take part in the 5th National Congress of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, held in Lviv on November 14–15, 2025. One of the co-organizers of the event was the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
About the Congress
The National Congress is traditionally one of the key events in the field of rehabilitation medicine. This year, it brought together Ukrainian and international experts who shared their experience and approaches to implementing evidence-based rehabilitation in the context of war.
The program included plenary sessions, masterclasses, and workshops on multiprofessional rehabilitation for wounded and injured patients, as well as scientific presentations from specialists from Ukraine and abroad.

“The Congress was very engaging. The presentations and sessions were informative and meaningful. We are sincerely grateful for your support!” — Alla Rohulia, Deputy Medical Director for Rehabilitation, Lypa Lviv Hospital
The agenda covered several important areas: neurorehabilitation, traumatology, cardiac rehabilitation, pediatric and sports rehabilitation, Paralympic sport, community-based rehabilitation, and mental health.
Meaningful exchange of experience
For rehabilitation specialists, it is essential not only to learn new information but also to see how other teams address similar challenges. This was highlighted by the participants from the Halychyna Rehabilitation Center.
“There were many presentations where colleagues shared their experience. Most of them face similar tasks and challenges as we do. It’s always valuable to hear how others approach these issues — it both enriches our understanding and builds confidence. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the Congress!” — Dmytro Pavlovskyi, Head of the Physical Rehabilitation Department, Halychyna Rehabilitation Center
Why this matters
The need for well-trained rehabilitation teams in Ukraine grows every day. Participation in professional events like this helps specialists gain new knowledge, exchange experience, and integrate modern, evidence-based practices into their work.
We will continue supporting medical teams so that high-quality, evidence-based, and compassionate rehabilitation becomes accessible to everyone who needs it.
