TRAINING FOR UZHHOROD HOSPITAL REHABILITATION DOCTORS
As part of the “Resilience: Regained Strength” project aimed to improve medical care and rehabilitation in Ukraine, we organized a training session for ten rehabilitation specialists from Uzhhorod City Multi-Profile Hospital.
During the training, specialists, including doctors, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, learned how to diagnose and treat back pain, a common problem for many patients. They were taught how to find the cause of the pain, collect information about symptoms, assess movement limits, and consider psychological and social factors. They also practiced methods for examining pain and choosing the right treatment.
The practical part of the course focused on manual techniques and therapeutic exercises to reduce pain and improve movement.
These new skills will help the specialists manage pain better, improve overall health, and restore function for their patients. This is especially important for those affected by the war, as many of them suffer from severe complex injuries, chronic pain, reduced functional abilities, and need specialized care. The knowledge gained during the training will help tailor treatment methods to the individual needs of these patients, providing more precise and effective recovery, which is crucial for their overall healing.
“From the first day after the training, all the specialists started using their new skills, and we are seeing great results with our patients. Thanks to the ‘Social Projects Center of Future’ support, our patients are receiving better rehabilitation”
Kateryna Zinovieva, physical and rehabilitation medicine physician at Uzhhorod Hospital
The training, which took place on August 17-18 at the Institute of Vertebrology and Rehabilitation, was conducted by Artem Zghurskyi —Chief Physical Therapist, lecturer at the Department of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy at the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine, and a board member of the All-Ukrainian Association of Physical Therapists.
The project is being implemented with the support of our partner, GlobalGiving.
