ULTRASOUND TRAINING COURSE FOR DOCTORS FROM THE UZHHOROD CENTER OF NEUROSURGERY AND NEUROLOGY
In October, six physical and rehabilitation medicine doctors working at the Uzhhorod Regional Clinical Centre of Neurosurgery and Neurology completed a course in ultrasound diagnostics of the musculoskeletal system.
The two-day training course, organized by the International Academy of Modern Medical Education, was conducted by Lyudmyla Osadcha – a trauma orthopedic physician of the highest category and an ultrasound diagnostics physician of the highest category.
During the course, the doctors learned the basics of ultrasound visualization and manipulation techniques under ultrasound control. They practiced visualizing skeletal muscles, intra-articular injections, and techniques for intra-articular administration. They also conducted ultrasounds of knee and elbow joints, wrists, skeletal muscles, the ankle joint, and the foot, among other things.
The knowledge and skills acquired are essential for treating and rehabilitating those who have suffered due to the war in Ukraine and require professional and high-quality recovery.
Currently, approximately 60% of the center’s patients require ultrasound examinations.
Ultrasound examinations help provide a comprehensive assessment of the condition of the limbs, determine the cause, and make an accurate diagnosis, thus preventing potential complications promptly. This is especially crucial in the rehabilitation of patients with muscle, joint, and nerve conditions resulting from blast injuries.
We will continue to inform you about the project’s progress and achievements!
This project is being implemented with the support of UNDP as part of the “Support for the Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities Caused by War” project with financial assistance from the governments of the Republic of Korea and Germany.
